Kenyan award-winning controversial gospel Bahati drops new single dubbed ”Mwisho wa Dunia” amid the coronavirus pandemic.
‘Mwisho wa Dunia’ is a Swahili word that loosely translates to the end of the world.
In the new release, Bahati prays that the current coronavirus pandemic, that has placed the world on lockdown, should not mark the end of the world.
He highlights the challenges the coronavirus has caused including; loss of jobs, thousands of deaths, destabilization of the economy among others.
“… Tunaikosa riziki Baba, tunaumia, tunalia corona corona, Yule maskini mama asiye na njiaau watoto wa mitaani omba omba, mwisho, isiwe mwisho… mwisho wa dunia,” the lyrics read in part.
His mellow voice accompanied by the beats creates a sad mood, depicting the pain millions of people are growing globally due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The video has been shot in the abandoned streets of Nairobi; showing how bad things are. It also incorporates clips from President Uhuru Kenyatta, Ministry of Health, and other happenings across the world in regards to the virus.
Barely a day after it premiered, the video has over 100,000 views on YouTube, an indication that it is set to be a huge tune.
